OK2L, thanks for posting the LBros link. I'm struck again by how much money LB expects G* to lose in CY2000: $2.34/sh.

I'm afraid they're right, taking into account that the company will presumably start depreciating its 3-4B$ asset at a rate of 500M$/yr and expensing (rather than capitalizing) interest while it's ramping up service from zero.

But the number sure looks bad, and Loral's share of it means to me that LOR losses will continue/accelerate next year, not turning black until 2001. I'm not comfortable that that's widely understood. I remember that BLS claimed G* would be net positive to the tune of 500M$ in 2000 as recently as the conference call right after the Zenit failure.
