Apparently not. Spike to 17 3/16 then died for lack of interest. Fooled me. Bought at 17 1/8.

The affiliation with go.com may turn out to be quite major with the backing of Disney, Seek, ESPN etc

info.go.com

However, this is not new. Its been known for a couple months.

Dear CNOLT: I think that the Go.com story is big. Not only is it important to point out that Disney has a big interest in Go.com, but Disney's ownership of ABC, ESPN, and ESPN2 is extremely helpful. The Go.com reference is made at every commercial break on ESPN and ESPN2.

"Borders.com Exclusive Bookseller on GO.COM

ANN ARBOR, Mich., Feb. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Borders announced it is the exclusive bookseller for Infoseek's (Nasdaq: SEEK - news) GO.COM, a new media network designed to give users the diversity of the Web with the power to control it. The one-year agreement is a renewal of a current agreement with Infoseek. Further terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

GO.COM has more than eight million registered members and over 38 percent reach into the Internet audience. These users will be exposed to contextual placement of Borders.com links and banner ads throughout the site.

''Users will not only find us by clicking on the 'Buy a Book' links, but also through title suggestions recommended within every channel on the GO.COM site,'' Rick Vanzura, Senior Vice President of E-commerce & Fulfillment Operations, said. ''This ubiquitous position gives Borders.com a key opportunity for traffic building and promotion.''

As a result of Disney's 43 percent ownership stake in Infoseek and commitment to GO.COM, the site will receive unprecedented promotion through various Disney properties.

''We're pleased to enter a relationship with GO.COM -- in fact, we have a lot in common with our GO.COM counterparts,'' Vanzura said. ''Like GO.COM, Borders.com features superior customer service capabilities, an intuitive interface, and easy navigation.''

''We believe these assets, in combination with unique features like 'follow-me tabs,' and quality content from ABCnews.com and ESPN.com will allow GO.COM to continue as one of the top sites on the Internet,'' he concluded.
