All in all a VERY frustrating day. I do see parallels (and I think someone mentioned it earlier today) with AOL a year or two ago when they busy signals started happening. If Etrade were smart, they would handle this very similar to the way J&J handled the Tylenol scare many years back...open and honest. They should jump on it, apologize, provide an incentive to the customer base (e.g., 3 free trades for all customers, etc.), and keep everyone informed with OPEN AND HONEST communication about what happened, and what is being done to fix it. Doesn't sound too complicated and is obvious to most of us, but let's see what they do.
