Merrill Lynch's analyst mentioned TLAB as a potential beneficiary of the AT&T-TWX joint venture, although I don't think either company is currently a Cablespan customer. The ML report also said that the most direct benefits would go to Scientific-Atlanta (SFA) and General Instrument (GIC) since they supply AT&T and TWX with digital set-top boxes. Don't Bay and 3Com supply cable modems to AT&T? The way I've played the AT&T-TWX joint venture (and the general trend toward cable tv) is to increase my holdings in Broadcom, which is the main chip supplier to SFA and GIC and also controls the chip market for cable modems.
