I'd be overjoyed if the eps even hits the "whisper number" given the
reports coming in from the majors. My bets is on value and the inter-
mediate and long term for this company. I've seen all this type of
action in my life with the cycles.

As I said earlier IMHO Natural Gas will be a better place to be than
crude in the future.

I haven't commented on the "we know no reason why" statement and here are a few whys:

Through the 3rd qtr 98 and compared to the previous year, production costs are up 40% while O+G sales are up only 13%. Depreciation, Depletion and Amortization costs are up 56% yr over yr. Interest expense rising. G+A costs up...the list can go on. The best thing they did in the 3rd quarter was the write down of O+G properties which at first glance looks awful.

I am very interested to see the year end report and their guidance going forward. I think that the stock is worth the purchase price at this level but I also understand completely why it's being kicked around by the street. The short term issues are clouding the long term picture. I think this is a nice opportunity going forward.
