"BII does not need to wait until its audit is complete to release its 4th quarter " You are correct but then again they may have good reason to delay. If you look at some of the recent press release by the company you will see a pattern of change in the business model.

Good Post Golden Domer!

I think a couple on here have been making the same point (including myself) about the unnecessary delay in seeing the financial results for BII. There is no need to wait for an audit before these numbers are released, and if that is the company's excuse, then it is a pretty poor one at that IMO.

>>Most, (if not all) U.S. companies will tell you the precise date that they expect to release their earnings to the public...<<

It's kind of fishy in that the company hasn't yet announced a date for the year-end results. I won't speculate on what the "numbers" will tell us, but you would have to think that if the results are good, they would make every attempt to get them out there for public consumption ASAP. This could also definitely assist them in speeding up the process for a NAZ listing and maintain stock support based on some solid financials versus lousy PR's like yesterday's. On the other hand, if the financials reek, BII's chances of making it to the NAZ may sink before it reaches port.

Canadian companies do not release Annual figures prior to audit and they have 140 days following the end of the fiscal year to do this.

All of their filings are available at www.sedar.com, the canadian equivalent to Edgar.

If you follow canadian companies you will notice that the 4th quarter's figures are not released for what appears to be an overly long delay when comparing the dates to the first 3 quarters.

With respect to stating in advance a date for release, I know that certain large blue chips will set a date, but it is not common for a small cap stock.

>>>I don't know what is customary in Canada, but here in the U.S. companies typically press release their 4th quarter and year end financial results by the end of January.<<<

Most blue chip Canadian companies do release unaudited 4th quarter results around end of January. I stress blue chip companies though, and there are few of those in Canada (in comparison to U.S.A). Most medium and small caps don't release numbers until after audit - in most cases around 60 to 70 days after year-end.
