I believe they already made the announcement on the 3 for 2 split. It would be unlikely that the Board would revise its stated intention at this point.

3 for 2 does not "look weak." A split is generally established based upon the trading range within which the Board would like to see the stock trade. ORCL, for example has continually announced 3 for 2 splits to maintain a trading range of 25-60 for its stock.

It is evident from an historical review of the stock's performance that the Board has been content over the past few years with T trading in mid-double digit range (40-80). After this split, the stock will fall back to 65+/-. If growth accelerates faster whereby the price of T escalates to the upper bound of this range quickly, & there is a firm belief that such accelerated growth will continue, management might consider a 2 for 1 next go-around.

But for now I think we're "stuck" with the 3 for 2 split.
