ADI is patently clueless when it comes to multimedia. Intel is certifiably witless when it comes to DSP architecture (witness MMX), but has a large DVD/MPEG team which is doing a reasonable quality job (even though Cube's CTO makes fun of them to no end). So, it seems on the SURFACE that this is a marriage made in MPEG. Let us not forgot that both are large, generally clueless companies. Both have more hardware clue than Cube however. Oh and I count at least 5 companies now doing software encode on PC's. Here we go again.
