And another one......

Bishop says Kaiser's comments hit Winspear

Winspear Resources Ltd WSP
Shares issued 33,721,333 Feb 3 close $2.72
Wed 3 Feb 99 In the News
Bob Bishop, writing in the Jan. 21, 1999 edition of his Gold Mining Stock
Report, says Winspear's recent pullback can be attributed to concerns
raised by fellow letter writer John Kaiser who on Jan. 8 questioned
management's lack of disclosure. In particular, Mr. Kaiser suspected 75 per
cent of the Snap Lake project's value resided in three diamonds out of a
parcel of 1,387 stones. Mr. Bishop has followed Winspear's progress closely
for the past five years, often with frustration; his coverage has included
two buy recommendations -- in September 1994 at $1.44 and in October 1996
at $2.47. In February 1998 at 98 cents, he recommended his subscribers sell
the stock. The much-followed stocks writer notes the company subsequently
disclosed more information about stone-size distribution which confirmed
his and Mr. Kaiser's suspicions. Mr. Bishop remains cool to Winspear,
however, recommending investors instead buy Aber Resources, "a company with
proven diamond deposits, a 32.2 per cent interest in exploration at Snap
Lake and, in all likelihood, a strong market endorsement to follow."

This is very interesting. The Globe and Mail seemed to indicate that Kaiser and Bishop were quite down on the stock, but if you read Kaiser's release, he seems to be quite positive. I think the Globe reporters should stop reporting old news and sending the market into a downward spiral, but on the other hand, if you have any spare cash you'll probably never get an opportunity to get it this cheap again.
