ADVANCED MICRO DEVICES late Tuesday said Richard Forte, president and chief executive officer of AMD's Vantis subsidiary, has resigned. Richard Previte, Vantis chairman, will serve as acting CEO pending the naming of a successor, the company said in a statement. Advanced Micro is a maker of semiconductors for computer and communications markets, and Vantis provides programmable chips for communications and industrial applications.
