Sorry I misled you, Doc. No problem with TVW broadcasts...

What I was referring to was *broadcast.com's* (BCST) hosting of the Victoria's Secret "fashion show." TVW was not a participant in this event.

Actually, it's not even BCST's fault. I'm sure it was forced to limit the transmission's bandwidth to accommodate an extraordinary number of simultaneous viewers. Thus, the "incredibly shrinking postage stamp" picture. In addition, there was tremendous Net congestion during the event due to the concentrated nature of a live broadcast. In a word, it was "Woodstock."

And multicasting is hard to do. Almost a miracle so many people were able to connect.

RealPlayer performed well. It just didn't get much of a data stream to work with. I'll try the archived version for comparison.

While I wasn't able to watch them live, TVW's archived broadcasts were splendid. Among the best I've seen. Unlikely that TVW has done much with multicasting as yet. Probably still sending out individual streams (unicasting). Will need multicasting as traffic increases.

Just wanted to clear this up.
