AOL is still a lousy online service, with zillions of annoying ads, with incessant timeout messages, and with constant abrupt signoffs.

Brookelise, none of those could do financial damage to its members. But when etrade is down for 2 hours, investors/traders can lose a bundle. Money is on the line, not just some chitchating.

Regards,

Tom

AOL & EGRP: While the comparisons are similar, AOL's problems produced great volatility as well as opportunity to make money with thier stock. However, I didnt have my investment cash tied up in an AOL brokerage account(obviously since none exist)as as I do with Etrade. Yes, you sign on the bottom line, but the bottom line is the same with full service brokers as well. Yes you take risks with on line trading, but the last two days are inexcusable. Although I hate to give up a little(profit) when trading on line, I put up with it due to the commission structure. However, I really hate it when I have to give up A LOT and this goes beyond compromise! Etrade, slow down and get it together, for now I will be shorting you.....
