Dawg, I have lived in Akron, OH all my life. In the Fifties Goodyear was the largest employer in town. 90% of their employees were manufacturing tires,then they started building new factories and moving out jobs. (Gasden was one of the first plants.) At the same time Firestone closed and Goodrich followed later. Akron went from being the tire making capital of the world to no tire production. It looked like the end of the world, but little by little other business came into town to pick up the slack. Akron felt the loss but at no time did we fall into a depression, people hustled around for a few years to make ends meet. And now we have a good standard of living and good employment. Gasden will do fine, it is a good town with good people and they are not afraid to work. That makes the people and the town of Gasden much bigger than a tire plant. Hang in buddy, we lived through it and came out fine and you all (northern Y'All) will to. Jim
