Re: "Elmer - Sanders WAS WRONG ! Again !
Microsoft Corp. has shipped a new version of its DirectX multimedia software that now supports the multimedia instructions built into the Pentium III. The new version of DirectX, version 6.1, automatically recognizes the Pentium III.
.
.
Microsoft software for the Pentium III was originally expected after the chip's introduction; in its fourth-quarter conference call with analysts, the chairman and chief executive of rival Advanced Micro Devices had predicted Pentium III support would wait until DirectX 7.0"

Well I'm shocked....

It also seems to me there were a few others on this thread who claimed it would be many months before DirectX supported the KNI.

Guess they were wrong.
