Hi Dav, it's interesting how two folks of the same stature could be so far apart. I'm referring to the contrast between what MS is saying here, and what the chief economist of Bear Stearns said yesterday on CNBC. I.e., that there was no end in sight.

The bubble wont burst, he said, "we're in an new era."

He equated that particular level of risk [the bubble bursting] with that of not playing at all [those who snooze, lose]. I find little comfort in either form of absolutism.

Re: Biggs predicts a correction

>that history indicates the stock market will likely experience a 20- to 30-percent correction sometime this year.<

As fast and as high as the market has gone lately, geee, that's about as prophetic as predicting that California will likely experience a big earthquake sometime this year. Wow, he's really gone out on a limb on that one huh? <vbg>

"A noted market strategist said Wednesday he expects a significant correction on Wall Street at some point in 1999. "

Boy, that is profound. I guess that's why analysts get paid the big bucks.

Here is mine:

The market will continue to move up and down during 1999.
