In my humble opinion this is the year you want to be overly weighted in the semi stocks as I believe the bottom has reached and their long awaited boom has arrived (thanks mostly to internet and the telecommunication industry).

As for particular stocks, I own the following, LSI, AMAT, LRCX, TER, ALTR, ADI, VLSI, TXN, XLNX, and soon INTC (after their 2-1 split is completed).

As for entry point into LSI, I believe the stock will test the low $20's (e.g. $22-$24) before going higher. However with LSI there is absolutely no definite pattern as the stock moves up and down in a blink of an eye. They are perhaps (IMHO of course) the best and most premium specialized chip makers in the industry at this time (especially in telecommunication and internet related market).

In general as for entry points into semi stocks (e.g. LSI, AMAT, ALTR, LRCX, etc.), do not worry about getting in a point or 2 or 3 higher or lower. In 12-18 months from now it will not matter as these stocks will (again IMHO) will double or tripple. Of course I do realize that in this market (with all the madness with internet related stocks such as Yahoo, AMZN and anyone that has a .com at the end) 12-18 months for a stock to double or tripple is a very very long time!!

Regards,

- Addi

Byron, re:responding to Dale on this thread after he got personal, and nasty with another contributor in this thread.

No. I didn't get mean and nasty with anyone. I get called names and then I get lectured if I respond with name calling. I sometimes get personally attacked and then I get rebuked for defending myself.

Strange world ain't it.
