Still a good call and BELIEVE me...you're not the lone ranger...

<< after watching over half the profit evaporate (and paying dearly for using limit orders to try to save half a point at much lower levels-when will I learn?) Z >>

I try very hard to practice the "when they pass the plate take the cookie" philosophy with my trading but it is very very hard...and there's one reason its so hard....greed :)

Z and all,
<<QUESTION: Are there any early warning signs of a Y2K slowdown that we can watch for to avoid getting caught in the downdraft? I'm the first to admit that I'll be the last to know...>>
Well, I would say you are at least the second to the last to know.<g> I am considering mindlessly following the axiom of out by Memorial Day, back in around Labor Day. I haven't actually gone back to check its results, but it certainly would have worked this past year, and, if my slackening memory doesn't fail me too much, many years in the past, at least with DD vendors. As far as a second half slowdown is concerned, though, the idea is so bandied about that it is hard for me to believe that it won't be anticipated, thus making this another of those years where the above mentioned mindless strategy may well work again this coming year.

A day early, unfortunately.

Didya notice that EBAY options are now listed? The implied vols are incredible, higher than APM even. Selling volatility seems awfully tempting, here. Just don't do it naked.
