Richard,

It is obvious that you see only what you want to see. I guess that is your right.

I have no malice towards gold. I just don't have any lust for it either, and I'm certainly not mesmerized by it like you apparently are.

I can look beyond the illusion to see past the monetary confidence games exhibited in both Fiat and Gold.

Money is only as good as the confidence of those who percieve that confidence.

Fiat possesses consumer confidence so long as people have confidence in the system and political leadership.

When that confidence in the gov't/Fed is destroyed, it doesn't matter if your currency is Fiat or gold backed, that paper will lose value and people will be hard-pressed to push their claims for redemption in gold.

Gold works when man's confidence in his own creations fall into self-doubt. Lacking anything to believe in, people may fall back into the 'ol standby, Gold/Silver.

Someday you might understand this. (doubtful..:0)

Cheerleading for gold to replace the Fiat system again, is equivalent to seeking the collapse and contraction of a large part of our economy.

Don't you think that is somewhat ghoulish?

Sorry if you believe my unwillingness to welcome a severe economic disruption/collapse is interpreted as malice toward gold.

Regards,

Ron
