Ron,
I have said, "I foresee a gold rally starting around April-June 1999.
I then see another glut as (used or unused as money for Y2k it matters not) flows back onto the shelves of the coin dealers. I then see(late 2001 - mid 2002) a fresh demand side rally driven by a fresh inflationary rather than a deflationary cycle.

It will become increasingly hard to foresee these coming whipsaw inflationary / deflationary cycles. and gold may not go much lower during the early - mid 2000 glut." Our government has done some rather shady things in inflation reporting so that even they do not now know the truth.

Very Good Reading. Very Pertinent to what is being debated on this thread:
" Is the American boom beginning to crack?"

" The Keynesian hangover."
