Here's why Intel is off-the usual Kurlack hatchet job.

Let's not forget the Celeron 433 due in March. This chip will definitely hurt the K6-2-450 and might even beat it to market. At any rate it will keep ASPs on the K6-2-450 from the $200 range. Probably more like $150-$160. Then the concerns about that Celeron cannibalizing the Pentium II will start to emerge again. Intel has a lot riding on the Pentium II and with the Celeron 433 they have no return route. Intel better hope the Pentium III isn't a bust or the Celeron will eat them alive.
