Consumer and SOHO PC Users Have New Options For Purchasing
Complete Suite of Solutions For Simplifying Connectivity, Installation, and Usability of PCs,
Software, and Peripherals Addressing the demand of millions of consumer and SOHO PC users who need simplified installation, connectivity, and usability, SystemSoft Corp. (Nasdaq: SYSF) today unveiled a new program to sell its automated problem-resolution technologies directly from its new Web site at www.systemsoft.com.
In the first phase of the program SystemSoft will make its entire suite of SystemSoft's problem-resolution products - including SystemWizard for Windows 95 and 98 desktop and notebook users, CardWizard and PowerProfiler for Windows NT notebook users, and PowerLast for Windows 98 notebook users-available for electronic purchase from its Web site. Previously, SystemSoft products were sold solely through OEM channels and were not available directly to PC users. Through a newly redesigned Web site, SystemSoft now offers easy options for new and existing customers that want to purchase, download, install, and use the latest problem-resolution technologies immediately.
This new program is in response to the industry shift that has caused end users to become more self-sufficient. Cost sensitive consumers are not willing to wait 30 to 45 minutes on a support line, while being charged for their time when they can solve the problem themselves. SystemSoft's response to this shift has been to work closely with the OEMs to enable consumers to become more self-sufficient in solving common PC problems.
In addition, SystemSoft is pursuing new partners, including Internet service providers (ISPs), independent software vendors (ISVs), and other channel partners. SystemSoft will provide them with customized solutions to help them provide their customers with a broader range of troubleshooting, and automated problem resolution. For example, an ISP might bundle a customized version of SystemWizard that focuses on simplifying the sometimes complex issues surrounding Internet dial-up networking, connectivity issues, or even setting up e-mail. The PC user would then have the opportunity to purchase the full version of SystemWizard to solve other hardware and software problems.
"Making our complete family of problem resolution technologies directly available to the public is an important milestone for us," said Frank Sola, president and CEO of SystemSoft. "In response to a growing trend of users committed to self-sufficiency, we believe our new e-commerce program will reach entire new markets of PC users who are looking to simplify their experience with PCs, software, and peripherals."
