Haim---Sounds like the people in the know are playing the game ---Thursday February 4, 10:58 am Eastern Time

Lehman says Lucent "appears ahead of itself"

NEW YORK, Feb 4 (Reuters) - Lehman Brothers on Thursday reiterated its neutral rating
on Lucent Technologies, saying the company's current stock valuation ''continues to appear
ahead of itself.''

-- Says it has been recommending since mid-August that investors sit on the sidelines instead of buying Lucent shares because
of high valuations. Shares have been trading at about 40-50 times 1999 earnings estimates.

By the way I talk to MERRILL LYNCH yesterday ---they have a buy on the stock for 135 to 140 per share . Sounds to me like they are shaking the tree to buy in cheaper . Nothing has change about LU except for people looking for a cheaper way to get into the stock . My opinion

I don't have the sophistication for the options trading, Haim,
but it seems you called the downturn based on technical
analysis.

Where do you see support level for LU?
Do you think we will descend into the mid 90's.

Anybody's guess, but I liked your call on this recent price action.

With respect,
George
