My little guy has had a life long addiction to fetching little yellow sound proof ear plugs. He likes the size, consistency and can see em pretty well. Every night when I come home he gets all excited and goes crooked tail running into the bedroom, cuz the ritual is supposed to start on top of the bed. When I acquiesce which is often, I find one of his toys and join him in the game. After a while he will sometimes come to his senses, stop play momentarily to stare intently out the nearest window for fear that one of his feline buddies may be peeking through the pane in open mouthed horror catching him at such an undignified uncatlike moment. Once embarrassment is assuaged, he returns to fetch the little yellow thingy again and again, til exhaustion sets in. He too understands the meaning and purpose of applause for the more exhibitionistic aerial snags. He especially likes toy-in-mouth belly rubs. If I were him I'd be embarrassed. Afterwards he carries his toy around and usually places it by his dinner dish for safe keeping though sometimes he'll self-entertain by continuing to chase and fetch on his own. If he knew I were posting this on the web, he'd have me declawed.

My cat Luna, aka "Sweet Feet", does the very same thing, and as an added bonus, swats at my head from between the railings as I walk downstairs.

We have four cats, but Eleanor is the most - - ah, - - "remarkable." Her nicknames are "The Dreaded Pet," "Disaster Cat," "DestructoCat" and "The El from Hell." She is extremely beautiful, brown ticked tabby with large green eyes, and an expression that reminds me of Maria Bartiromo, whom I think is attractive. However, Eleanor in motion is something else entirely. I would say it is a daily occurance for her to do one of the following (or something similar):

Sometimes when I come home, she will come running up the sidewalk and up the front steps to be let in the front door, and run headfirst into the topmost step (there are just two).

The half-screen in the front screen door has fallen down into the bottom half of the door and can't be raised, so the cats like to jump on the ledge and into the front of the house through the doorway when the front door is left open. Sometimes Eleanor will come running up and jump onto the ledge just as I am opening the door, so that she will miss the ledge and hang in the air, and then fall.

Today she came in the front door with me, but was confronted by the dog, and tried to jump onto the sofa by the door. She forgot that the sofa is Mission-style, and has a wooden arm, so she jumped straight up, struck her head on the underside of the wooden arm, and slid down clutching the wooden spindles.

The cats like to jump on the windowsill on the window that is by the head of my bed, and look out (my room is on the second floor). Frequently, Eleanor will jump on my bed, heading for the windowsill, and run headfirst into my headboard.

Despite her klutziness, Eleanor isn't as spaced-out as Fuzz-Bomb, who is a Himalayan, and seems to see the world cross-eyed, even though she is not actually cross-eyed. Things which move quickly confuse her, and she has been known (on several occasions) to jump out my bedroom window when I leave the screen open, and come into the room unexpectedly. I look out the window to see how she is doing, and she just looks very confused.

But it is sweet to look up on the tallest shelf and see Eleanor and Fuzzy cuddled up together, Fuzzy licking Eleanor's head. I would never dream of laughing at any of these antics, or even acknowledging that I saw them.
