Actually, I am more of a Dostoevsky kind of guy, perhaps Conrad. I am familiar with moral ambiguity, Daniel, but it is also part of the real world to have to make choices. Okay, I thought I recalled you expressing exasperation with the kind of bobbing and weaving you are currently engaged in, but I will not bother to go through old posts, I will take you at your word. So I will merely express my exasperation. I'm glad you answered one of my questions from last night at least. I didn't expect you to say that it "rose to the level of impeachment", I just wanted to know if you approved. I wish you would answer the others. I haven't assured anyone of anything, nor have I said that Clinton will be a long term albatross. Do you actually read my posts, Daniel. I have been at some pains to set forth my view that even if we take a hit on this, it is worth doing, and I think we can recover in time for 2000. I do not think that politics is either a war, or blood sport, and I don't think that the Republicans invented it, in any case. Remember Johnson's "little girl picks flower, goes boom" commercial? Sometimes politics gets too rough, but if the Republicans were as bad as you say, we would be singing "Hail to the Chief" to President Dole.
