One for the radar screens. PWCC is the parent of an IPO coming out the week of 2/22 (go to the thread if you want more info). We've all seen what happens to the parents (can you say MALL, DBCC)after the IPO. It has started its pre-IPO run. Mark it on your calendar for 2/18 as a candidate.

Brokerage stocks -

The small guys are supposed to go up because AMTD and other large on-line brokerages have gone up. But the small guys are being hurt by internet trading; they're at the losing end of the stick. JBOH and MHMY used to be profitable but were running deep into the red last year, their margins gutted. This is still continuing. To be able to offer the kinds of prices and services EGRP, AMTD, and Datek offer, they would have to invest millions in equipment, software, and advertizing. This is money they don't have - JBOH has defaulted on debt, MHMY is close to out of cash. They may be able to survive as small players but I wouldn't be on it.

Sieb appears to be really well managed and might make it. The others are good backruptcy candidates.
