Chuck: No disagreement here...although someone bought those shares! I expect that some insider trading has occurred. The last time I checked with the SEC site (month ago)Eric and others filed to sell sometime in Nov./Dec '99! Of course this does not explain the big volumn these past several days. The mkt may be reacting to unfounded "assumptions"...lately there has been alot of hype over the "internuts" and how they are going to crash "one of these days"...I don't know and don't want to be in the "assumption crowd"! All that I can relate is....this past year even with all my trips, expenses, etc distributions to heirs, my portofolio has increased over 25%! So, that tops out better than the S&P 500! My strategy remains the same...accumulate,especially on the dips and sell when coms hits 100-110! This will take approximately 2-3 yrs but the ROI for "Patience" is, as you can see...considerable! If I was a Short time investor in 3com...these past several days would have taken my breath away...like a ride at "Magic Mountain"!
