NEW YORK, Feb. 4 (Reuters) - Independent record label Rykodisc said Thursday it had agreed to sell a section of its recording catalog on GoodNoise Corp's online music store, using the controversial MP3 Internet technology. The deal is one of the strongest shows of support yet for MP3, a compression technology which allows music to be copied and transferred via the Internet. The Salem, Mass. company plans to initially sell 175 tracks from 50 Rykodisc artists, including Frank Zappa and Morphine, for $0.99 each at the Goodnoise online store. Additional tracks will be released in coming months.
