DiVit, It is made in Singapore and sold worldwide that must include China. Probably SONY name will help it a little bit in China. However, a VCD2.0 player demands much lower selling price in China nowadays. You need to support VCD 3.0 to be able to do certain things. The best product to date is SuperVCD player in China. The ASPs are much higher. ESST, Zoran and Cube are leaders of supplying chips in this market. WinBond and Luxsonor are also runs. No, I wouldn't worry about a VCD 2.0 by SONY nor should ESS and CUBE. Of course we should watch very carefully the DVD player sales result in China. ESS's guideline to its sales force is to wait on the sideline and support design-ins now but 200% push to ship SuperVCD chips that enjoys healthy gross margins. In fact, CUBE is doing the same thing which is sensible. Steve
