BASKING RIDGE, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 4, 1999--Lucent Technologies today announced a two-year global purchasing agreement with American International Group, Inc. (AIG), a leading
U.S.-based international insurance company. Under the terms of the agreement, Lucent will offer a selection of voice communications products -- including its DEFINITY® Enterprise Communications
Servers, key systems and Call Center solutions to AIG offices worldwide.
The agreement is part of an effort by AIG to standardize its voice communications platforms throughout the world. AIG already has Lucent products in its offices in the United States, Argentina, Czech Republic, Malaysia, Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Singapore and Puerto Rico. AIG offices in France, Japan and Thailand are among the first to take advantage of the new agreement by installing Lucent Call Center solutions in their facilities to support sales and customer service.
''Lucent has had a long-standing relationship with AIG,'' said David L. Johnson, vice president of international sales at Lucent Technologies. ''We see this agreement as an opportunity to expand our
important business relationship with one of the world's most prominent global companies.''
