Wonder why DB's upgrade back to "BUY" has gone completely unmentioned on this board. Apparently Tim Rainey thinks that the slap on the wrist which he gave them several weeks ago has had good results and the company doesn't have to stand in the corner anymore.

The shorts on this board are hoping for the stock to be cut in half again. While I think that such a scenario is possible if the market as a whole tanks, I find the reasoning for such a drop to be thin. Most of the reasons given for a further drop are already factored into the stock price: no buy-in, shareholder lawsuits, mistrust of management, one-time charges, heavy debt load, and integration difficulties. Soros has also already headed for the exists as has the disgruntled small investors who had hoped for a quick buck. Personally I wouldn't mind if the price dropped to $4 so I could buy more on the cheap. But I think the upside potential is much greater at this point.

"So, no position at the moment even though I think we'll break $4 before we see $12 again."

IMHO drake, your just throwing prices in the air, no basis what so ever, no vision. The US is so efficient, that agriculture goods has always been on the fore front of price elasticity in which price of agriculture goods are in essence purely elastic. Where price is governed base on the law of supply and demand. The introduction of biotechnology will break this trend and in ABT case will add franchise value, no longer will margins be influenced by market elasticity. That is the long-term vision allowing Monsanto with incentives to pay 5-7x revenues and given the success of others..ie soybean and corn, its just a matter of time before forage catches up.

Rest a sure longs, we will not see $4 from any aspect, technically & fundamentally. No longer is ABT in a speculation phase after capturing 45% of the market share, its implementation from this point on. Either buy now or chase later....

happy trading to all.

You may want to go out and buy a few of your short candidates to create the uptick necessary to put the short on.

Hold the small long position and when she starts to tank, sell off the long to exacerbate the drop.
