From Briefing.com

SCI Systems (SCI) due to report earnings today... Street looking for gain of $0.50, a 10% drop from year ago quarter... Briefing.com expects company to beat by one or two cents however... If not, stock will have difficulty reversing recent downtrend... Next support is in the 40-39 area... Resistances are at 54 and 59 3/8.

Solderman, I too am totally ticked off at SCI management. Also at "analyst community" -- have seen nothing except for idiotic briefing.com remarks.

On the other hand, it sometimes pays to keep silent -- perhaps. One of my favorite companies, Herman Miller (MLHR), recent came out and announced up front that earnings per share would be a few cents below expectations, owing to slower sales in December (true of all furniture companies). Now, MLHR is an ideal company: a balance sheet to die for, steady, consecutive, consistent growth for years; great employee policy (important), and so forth and so on. So it hits a temporary slowdown. And so what was its reward for being up front? A 30% drop in one day!!!

Another one of my favorite companies, ECI Telecom, announced earnings today, one cent above estimates. Reward?? Over 17% single day decline!!

Whisper numbers involved in SCI decline, eh? Well, who the heck knows what the whisper numbers are? Certainly not most of us individual investors out there. We just look at the Zacks estimates.

Phooey on individual investing, anyway. And phooey on the unfair advantages companies like SCI give to their institutional investors.

SCI due to report today -- and where is the announcement??
