Computer network business has been good for at least last 4 years.
Please compare CSCO, ASND, COMS, FORE, GDC, and MADGF.

techstocks.com

If companies couldn't make money and enhance their share value in good time then they will not become winners overnight.I think 4 years is a long time for any company to prove themselves.

Companies could easily lose technology edge. If you can remember that GDC WAS the ATM pioneer. Now MADGE's token ring is just a token. Management is the most important thing ,much more important than technology itself. COMS last Q beat estimate by 5 cents but nobody cares if they disappoint us by 0.00001 cent by next Q. You have to give credit to John Chambers for never disappoint the shareholders. ASND disappointed us once but soon learn the lesson by hiring a real professional, their CFO, I forgot his name.

Please explain to us why you think COMS will be different NOW after years of disappointment.

Regards

Lin

Share value is very important. You can use it to buy other companies. You can keep your employees happy. You can lure good engineers....

Hey Harold -- obviously, you got your education over three decades ago, and are now a frustrated investor waiting for your COMS and AMD to pay off long term. Oh, and by the way -- there IS a relationship between COMS and AMD. Where do you think 3COm gets the chips to build its products? Bigtime newsflash for you buddy: 3Com buys ASICs (know what that is?) from folks like AMD.

Just another example of you spouting your mouth off without understanding anything beyond what your old-fashioned charts tell you.

"J. Plesha: How can you compare 3com with amd? There is actually no causal relationship between the two! One sells network equipment...the other sells CHIPS. You are comparing Apples with Oranges! One is in the Networking sector...the other in the Semi's! By the way, I own both of these stocks and analyze them relative to their position in their sector! Obviously, you did not get your degree in Business, nor have you taken a course in "Principles of Finance". "
