Hi Ish,

Lake Michigan salmon is Coho salmon and probably shouldn't be eaten in large quantities because of the PCBs. I eat whitefish from the Lake every summer and relish it but do feel a little uncomfortable about the pollutants.

I do eat lots of Atlantic salmon--farm raised. It's excellent and relatively inexpensive, at least where I am. I'll bet you can get it where you are because I've seen it for sale in Michigan.
