TimeStep Corp. - Ameritech Selects TimeStep to Provide IPSec Security for ANX Service

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 18, 1999-- At the RSA Conference, TimeStep Corp., a leader in secure virtual private network (VPN) solutions, announced today that Ameritech, one of three ANX CSPs, has selected TimeStep to provide the necessary Internet Protocol security element in their AutoVAN networking solution that forms part of the ANX service. This marks the second CSP to select TimeStep's PERMIT Enterprise VPN solution for this groundbreaking initiative. The ANX, an Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) project, will form the world's largest extranet linking automotive trading partners quickly and securely. When fully deployed the ANX network is anticipated to save the auto industry at least one-billion dollars per year by enabling mission-critical electronic commerce applications.
