i hope pair is involved!

We all understand your "need for speed" so we are launching our
Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) service in Austin, Texas. DSL is a
new technology that runs over standard phone lines with a pair of
modems. One modem is housed by the ISP (such as Southwestern
Bell Internet Services) while the other is in your home or office.
This pair of modems allows compressed data to move along the
phone lines at high speed. Unlike regular modem and ISDN
access, DSL is "always on" and allows you to download files and
view graphics-intensive Web pages at speeds up to 10 times
faster than ISDN, and up to 50 times faster than conventional
28.8 Kbps modems. For more information about our DSL service,
please visit: public.swbell.net.

In a related announcement, our parent company, SBC
Communications Inc., announced plans for the largest rollout of
Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) service in the
country. By the end of the year, SBC will have the potential to
provide ADSL service from 526 central offices to 8.2 million
residential and 1.3 million business customers. So if ADSL is not
available in your area yet - it will be soon!

Southwestern Bell Internet Services is dedicated to providing
cutting edge technology to a wide variety of users at the best
prices without compromising our quality customer service. We
have many more exciting projects planned for this year, so stay
tuned as we continue to keep you informed.

Until next time,

Steven C. Hubbard
President and CEO
Southwestern Bell Internet Services
