No one is as important as they think. A big voice (mouth? head?) might generate a short term correction in the market, but will not significantly alter its course. The market is guided by macro-economics, not macro-egos. The underlying currents in the marketplace will continue it on its predominant course. As long as our economy exhibits the amazing strength it has shown recently the market will continue to rise. In the midst of this rise there will be setbacks. Some might be considered significant, but when viewed in light of the gains of the last two years it would be hard to consider anything less than forty to fifty percent as catastrophic. A twenty percent correction would certainly be painful to new investors (and horrible to Internet investors, since that's where the most slack would be found), but would only be unsettling for those who have benefited from the last three years of growth.

I like days like today, I'm able to find places where there has been an over-reaction and make an investment. I refuse to grab the handrail on a speeding train, hoping it doesn't rip my arm off, rather than take me down the line.
