Jim, re: "Are you serious?"

Sure, well, may be a little high - it is more like 50% margin on Celeron.

The higher end has more margin for sure, but you have to weight this against unit sales. Celeron is the volume leader at Intel. Remember that more Celerons have shipped than all flavors of K6.

Listen, nothing has happened here that wasn't previously outlined by Paul Otellini in the Q4'99 conference call. The analyst react with every Intel move on Celeron all last year only to be proved wrong in the quarterly reports. Intel has met its prior margin projections each and every quarter.

Meanwhile that other company just keeps on stumbling and shading the truth of its financial status.

Intel has clearly used the Celeron to squash AMD and attempt to gain back lost market share even risking the cannibalization of the high price chips.

Are you accusing Intel of fair competition Jim? On the AMD thread I read that Intel is "goulging its customers" and "dumping product" sometimes in the same post! Can't have it both ways.

Jeff

Jimbo - Re: "Intel has clearly used the Celeron to squash AMD and attempt to gain back lost market share even risking the cannibalization of the high price chips. Any other argument would be an outright fiction. "

Maybe !

What's done is done.

AMD is sucking gas.

Enjoy it !

Why didn't you SHORT AMD WHEN I GAVE THE SIGNAL YESTERDAY?

Paul
