As Michelino suggested, many use the profiles simply as a way to track posts. Take a look at my profile and see the link for recent posts. This is one way to do it. Another is to take that link, but include it in the users name section of the post where "history" (or some kind of marker) is a link similar to the 'recent post' link in my profile. That way, you don't even have to wade through all the profile stuff from some of our more 'creative' members:
