Joe, it's been a frustrating 1.5 years for me with COMS.

I'd bought in July 97 and listened to Eric on the conf call following the Aug 97 Q. He said all is well forward looking. Suddenly, the stock started tanking -- and then the inventory build up news became public knowledge. How could Eric B not known about the inventory problem? Or, if he know it, how could he keep a straight face and say all was well? I don't know. I was too naive an investor then. The stock tanked from 50s to 40s to 30s. It was steady downhill until low 20s.

I kept the faith and avg down and did some trading and all that, finally was happy to have COMS back in high 40s. And now a loss of 30% in 3 days? I am sure not all -ve news is out and where are we headed from here. Following the last Q's conf call, Eric had said this Q was "traditionally" a tough one for them. So howcome 3 weeks become the Q is to end DLJ & Prudential "suddenly" talk about pricing pressures and lowering estimates? Just corroborating (albeit not in the same market segment) COMS lowers its price on Palm Pilot. Something doesn't add up. And I know that I am getting the short end of the stick here.

I've lost confidence that COMS wants to maintain shareholder value or even respects them. I've sold most of my holdings today. If COMS does double from here, the pittance I hold will actually earn me some money. If it goes to visit 20s again, and I can stomach holding COMS knowing that they care a damn about shareholder value, I'll average down again.

Frustrated,
Cragganmore
