Re: "But Jerry promised at the last CC that a "mask fix" had cured the K6-2 400mhz production "problem" ... and ... silicon would be "flying out the doors" by February."

In the CC, they stated it would be at least halfway through the quarter before the effects of the fix were felt. If the fix really didn't work, we wouldn't have heard today that it specifically DID work.

The problem here is pricing pressure, and nothing more. The fact is, AMD isn't going to be making much money until the K6-3 starts heading out the door in quantity, and that's late March at best--exactly what we heard from AMD today.

You can try to paint this as another manufacturing snafu on top of the last one (allegedly corrected by the "late mask fix"), but that's about as believable as you being short this stock.

Yousef, Re: <I'll bet the people ...feel like "Chumps" now>

I certainly do, and I don't think that "Pricing Pressure" is sufficient to cause cancelation of the two meetings..

I would not be surprised if the BIG shoe has yet to fall.

>>Jerry said silicon would be "flying out the doors" by February<< Jerry was very careful not to promise Feb 1 or any particular date in February. Now he says, "the second half of the quarter." For the "calendar challenged" like you, this is Feb. 15, not March.

Where did you get this "rendering of wafers useless" crap. K6-2-400's are as available now as they were a month ago.
