Oh? Such as what? Maybe I've lucked out, but I have not
had this problem after (say) installing a new NIC or various
other changes.

Do you have a handle on what sort of network change triggers
this problem?

PS. Good to have you back, Sean. Removes some heat <ggg>.
I admit I ask for it.

Sean, it's amazing... I've been struggling with this for days now, and it hasn't been but 1 hour since my ISP called with this very same solution. It really makes sense. Each time the system asks for the NT CD, I should know to run SR3 over again. Never thought of that!

THANKS!!

BTW, my new ABIT/BH6/Celeron has been running at 450 and 2volts without incident since I turned it on! What software can you recommend to "stress test" the machine for reliability?

Sean, one more thing... I just installed WinNT on my boss's laptop, expecting it to ask about wiping the disk. It didn't. I now have the old junk there as well as WinNT, and really don't want to start over.

What's the procedure to remove Windows95 once NT has been installed? I don't mind blowing away the directories for applications and leaving the reg entries behind for awhile, unless you think this is asking for trouble. Win95 shows as an optional boot...

Sean, SUCCESS!!!! Re-installed SR3 (skipping files declared obsolete by the load procedure) and connected immediately. No error for Server failure.

THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
