I don't know why you wouldn't take me seriously. If it is a very good idea, it has to sound like it is better than normally achievable

The impression that I get, is that you're maybe missing the big picture with regard to UNIX design. You seem to be advancing a VMS-->NT approach, which is okay, except for the fact that it's not Unix.

Here's a Petreley article from an excellent series of articles called The First 10 minutes. It's a good read, as are the others. "Local user context" is the thing I flashed back on before hunting this down.
