LRR, this is a popular misconception, that one can provide restitution. If money is stolen, money can be restored. However, the immediate use for the money may not be restorable. And what about items of personal value, on which there can be no equivalent monetary value?

BTW, the comment earlier about there being no effect after a murdered person's death, at the risk of sounding flip, I have to say that death (and possibly pain reaching that state) have to be considered one hell of an effect getting there.
