You are probably right that removing RealPlayer from the startup menu will keep it from dialing into the web on its own. I am pretty sure that whenever you do start RealPlayer up it will still initiate communication with its home in addition to initiating communication with the intended web site. If it suddenly notifies you that there is an upgrade available, you can be sure it contacted its home. In addition to checking home for updates, I wonder what information about you it is sending to it's master? Remember, just because I'm paranoid, it doesn't mean they aren't following me. <VBG> Carl
