Brian - re: "Is Merrill Lynch a moron house? "

They may be a corrupt house - with big exposures STILL to the Long Term Capital Management hedge fund debacle.

It wouldn't surprise me to discover that a rising Intel is BAD for the LTCM porfolio - hence bad for Merrill.

This is my opinion and Merrill can show me their books and portfolio holdings to convince me I'm wrong.

But I think I'm right.

Paul

Dear Brian: Is Merrill Lynch a moron house

Nope, they are an INSTITUTIONAL house!! Took me 30 years to figure that out--maybe I'M THE MORON. haha. Anyhow, IMHO if you just play the game with them, meaning when they badmouth buy at the dip, when the sing songs of praise, sell at the top you can do well also. Problem is for many of us TAXES!! Effects our investment decisions. Do you know we are the ONLY industrial nation with capital gains taxes? I havent verified that statement but thats what I have been told. Maybe others on this thread can comment. JDN
