Has AOL Met It's Waterloo?

This is the title of an article I, and many of you I believe, have seen today on an MSNBC news site....It is an article on how in Europe a free ISP (Dixon) is outpacing AOL UK in growth by leaps and bounds....They started up in September of last year, and already have 1 million subscribers...AOL, after an extensive and costly campaign, has only 500,000 AOL UK subscribers, an amount that even as recently as several weeks ago AOL was "bragging" was THE largest United Kingdom ISP subscriber base...Not anymore...Dixon is Rocketblasting AOL's numbers into oblivion, after only 5 months...Dixon says they can offer free ISP and be profitable with their advertising and telephone revenue sharing deals....Analysts think this may become the wave of the future, starting in Europe and "quickly" crossing the ocean (here).....The article concludes by saying AOL is market testing a "free" ISP setup of their own.

Here is a small quote from the article:
<<MSNBC has learned that AOL is already market testing options including a free-access service of its own.>>

What do you guys think of this in terms of AOL's future?
