Well, I didn't say or mean that Muslim Africa and Asia didn't produce tacky people in the past, but one can hardly put the Zulu kings (who like Cetawayo were often celibate (or at least very fat)("Man-slaying celibate war machine," according to Sir Bartle Frere), and Suleyman andthe rest of the other Ottomans, were always too busy slaughtering their (largely semi European) half brothers) to really establish a clan based state. I was arguing, naturally, that the superiority of the "West" came from monogramy, while the vast kraals and harims of Africa and Asia produced few great men by modern standards but only skilled assassins who could not lead a modern state. Chaka was a minor league thug and Suleyman little better.
