Yousef taught me long before you came on the BB that Intels process technology was better than AMDs as evidenced by merely comparing the chip voltages. Pentium II=2.0v K6-2=2.2v Pentium III=1.8v.
Also looser design rules that Intel uses gives better yields which somewhat makes up for larger die sizes, although not totally.
As far as speed race, there is no thinking involved. Just look at who MHz is where. Currently, AMD 400 Intel 450. On intro of P-III Intel will be at 500. AMD won't be fully at 450 until end of March in reality despite when they introduce. AMD would have caught up without the process problem but thats water under the bridge now.
I don't think God had anything to do with it? Why would you even bring that up?
