The IBM-PC was released in 1981. I bought one then, and a 386 in 1989, built a 486 in 1992, a Pentium in 1994, and own a Dell Pentium II now. I've had three laptops along the way.

I was the first person to use Visicalc at ABC Television...on my own TRS 80 II, with 64k RAM, in 1980. I was a Compuserve subscriber starting in 1980, over a 300 baud modem.

That's my PC history.

I first met Mary Meeker in 1994. Apparently I haven't impressed her that much, because I never see the secret memos you say you get.

IMO, this is the critical part, which you seem to have missed:

Internet usage is different from product share anyway. Nothing compares to the positive network effects of a leading community site like eBay.
