Thank you for the lessons on MIB, SNMP, NDMP, etc. My knowledge of OSI is far from complete, but isn't SNMP classified as a Layer 7 protocol? I realize that FC/SAN does not map directly into OSI, but is further definition required for the middle layers? Why have the IETF bless the work of FA - why not ISO, IEEE, or other organization? Looks like I also need to learn about private/public loop and hardware zoning.
